Privacy Policy

Who we are

AKNB Global operates the online store at aknbglobal.com. We sell home, lifestyle, beauty, technology and general merchandise to customers across the Gulf Cooperation Council. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from us, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it. It applies to everything we do through this website, including browsing, placing an order, creating an account, subscribing to our newsletter and contacting our support team.

If you have any question about this policy, or you want to exercise any of the rights described below, please contact us through the contact page on this website and we will respond as quickly as we can.

The information we collect

Information you give us

When you place an order we ask for the information we need in order to actually deliver it to you. That means your name, your email address, your telephone number, your billing address and your delivery address. If you create an account, we also store a username and an encrypted version of your password. We never store your password in a form that we or anyone else can read.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address and the date you subscribed, so that we have a record of your consent. If you contact us for support, we keep the content of that conversation together with your contact details so that we can help you and so that we have a history if you contact us again about the same order.

Information we collect automatically

Like almost every website, our servers record basic technical information when you visit. This includes your IP address, your browser type and version, your device type, your operating system, the pages you looked at, the time and date of your visit and the site you arrived from. We use this to keep the site secure, to diagnose faults, and to understand in aggregate which products and pages are useful to visitors.

We also use your approximate location, derived from your IP address, to display prices in your local currency. This happens automatically and is not stored against your identity.

Payment information

We do not collect, process or store your card details. Payments are handled by Cashfree, which is an independent payment provider. When you pay, you are passed to Cashfree, and your card or account details are entered there. We receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded or failed, along with a transaction reference. This means that even if our systems were compromised, your card details would not be exposed through us, because we never hold them.

Why we use your information

We use your information for a small number of clearly defined purposes.

  • To fulfil your order. We need your name and address to have goods delivered to you, and your email and phone number to keep you informed and to allow the courier to contact you.
  • To provide customer service. If something goes wrong with an order, we need your order history to put it right.
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations. Records of sales must be retained for tax purposes.
  • To improve the store. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics tell us which products and pages are working.
  • To send you marketing, only if you asked for it. We do not add customers to our newsletter automatically. You have to opt in, and you can opt out at any time using the link at the bottom of every email we send.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse. We may use technical information to identify fraudulent orders or automated attacks.

The legal bases we rely on are: performance of a contract, for anything necessary to complete your order; your consent, for marketing email; our legitimate interests, for security, fraud prevention and improving the store; and legal obligation, for tax and accounting records.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we never will. We share the minimum amount of data necessary with a small number of parties who help us run the store.

  • Our fulfilment partner. Orders are fulfilled by CJdropshipping. They receive the recipient name, delivery address, phone number and the items ordered, because without those the parcel cannot be shipped.
  • Shipping carriers. The carrier handling your delivery receives your name, address and phone number.
  • Cashfree. Our payment provider processes your payment and holds your payment details directly.
  • Our hosting provider. Our website and database are hosted by Hostinger, so data is stored on their infrastructure.
  • Legal authorities. If we are legally required to disclose information, we will comply, and we will tell you unless we are legally prevented from doing so.

International transfers

Because our products are sourced and fulfilled internationally, your delivery details are transferred outside your country of residence in order to ship your order to you. This is unavoidable in cross-border retail: the warehouse packing your parcel needs to know where to send it. We share only what is required for delivery, and we require our partners to protect the information they receive.

How long we keep your information

We keep order records for as long as we are required to for tax and accounting purposes, which is commonly between five and seven years depending on jurisdiction. Account information is kept for as long as your account remains open. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Support conversations are kept for a reasonable period so that we can refer back to them if you contact us again. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you. You can ask us to correct it if it is wrong. You can ask us to delete it, and we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it, for example where a record forms part of our tax records. You can withdraw your consent to marketing at any time, either through the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us. You can also object to processing that relies on our legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact page. We will respond within thirty days. We may need to verify your identity first, so that we do not disclose your information to somebody else pretending to be you.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use them for a limited number of purposes: to remember what is in your shopping cart, to keep you logged in to your account, to remember your currency and language preference, and to measure traffic in aggregate.

The cart and checkout cannot function without cookies. If you block them entirely, you will be able to browse the store but you will not be able to complete a purchase. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers allow you to block or delete them.

Children

This store is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of sixteen. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so information you send us is protected in transit. Access to our systems is restricted, passwords are stored in hashed form, and we keep our software up to date. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable and proportionate measures to protect your information, and by not handling card details ourselves we remove the most sensitive category of data from our systems entirely.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business changes or as the law requires. The date of the most recent update is shown at the bottom of this page. If we make a significant change that affects how we use your personal information, we will make that clear rather than quietly amending the text.
